Recently, School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) reached a cooperation agreement with the Office of the Special Adviser on the Preparations for the Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations (UN75). SIPA, as a UN75 partner, will participate in the preparations for Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations. In this process, SIPA will assist with the publicity and collection of the online surveys and organize the workshops among the youth in order to better listen to their opinions on the trend of global development by the time of the 75th anniversary of UN, encourage them to take an active part in the global affairs, and promote international cooperation facing the potential non-traditional security threat in the future.

Fabrizio Hochschild, UN Under Sectary General and Special Adviser of UN75, signed the cooperation invitation with SIPA. He said UN75 was currently seeking partners among all 193 UN member states to support its worldwide dialogue on "Global Trends and Cooperation" to be launched in 2020, UN75 is pleased to partner with SIPA and will provide full support in conducting online surveys and organizing dialogues among the youth.

Taking an active part in the preparations for the Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations is an important part of the international organization talents training plan of SIPA. The world is currently in a battle with COVID19, we hope these activities can lead the youth to better understand the spirit of “Patriotism with Global Vision”, know more about the historical change happening globally and realize the importance of international cooperation. It is imperative for the people around the world to work together effectively to cope with the non-traditional security threats in climate change, environmental issue, public health, cyber security, bio-security, etc. Now, China is playing an increasingly important role in intergovernmental and non-governmental international organizations, and the world needs to hear China’s voice. The youth should develop a sense of responsibility of our time and bravely undertake the task to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
